I've just finished illustrating one of a set of charecters I had down in my sketchbook. I'm not sure where I'll use her (or her friend to follow) but I'm pretty happy with how she turned out. Look out for her on personalised cards and stationery in the near future :) Nat, HoneyApple.co.uk x

On to another unusual Hen Party request - Personalised invites for a Where's Wally Hen Do!

I remember when Wally (or Waldo) was a massive hit and it being a big deal if you managed to get one of the two copies of the book in the school library so it was fun to relive the challenge of finding the bobble hat wearing traveler in the crowd once again!

Easily the best Bank Holiday Bargain I’ve come across are these fab espadrilles from Office. They have a great selection of summer shades and prints and you don’t have to worry about picking just the one pair – they’re 2 for £15!

Perfect for laid back day’s when you want to kick back and enjoy the sunshine, I’m definitely going to be bagging a couple (at least).

The first add to basket click will be these beauts

Tribal skirt and Orange Leopard print top

I’m loving this tribal print pencil Skirt from River Island for the summer days ahead (fingers crossed). Great to dress up or play it down for day by teaming with an oversized tee. I’ve opted for this equally bold rust orange tee from eBay outlet featuring a large leopard print heart. Tucked in for a figure hugging smart casual look. You could always play it safe by teaming a statement tribal print with a black or white top but I like the loud clash of the animal print and it’s still along the same theme. Let them hear you coming, keep it loud!

Hurray, the clocks have gone forward for Summer time – Whoop! Although I’m less than impressed about losing an hour of my life (or my sleep to be exact) I do welcome the promise of brighter warmer days! As such I thought I’d start practicing my Summer updo’s. Option number one is the GaGa-esque hair bow.

What do we think?

men's tights aka Mantyhose

As modeled on the street of Paris (said in my best French accent, dropping the “s”) this is the last women’s item of clothing I expect to be adopted by men. That said, any male fad that comes complete with its own play on words gets my vote. Maybe it’s time for us in the UK to embrace the idea of our fellers reaching for their guyliner and stretching on a pair of mantyhoes in the name of fashion! Or not.

So fellers, are you man enough?

Brown Platform heels

Strappy Brown Platform Sandals

Brown High heel platform sandals

It’s hard to know what to buy in this awkward in between phase. Do we buy wellies for the snow that promises come or sandals for spring which is just around the corner? You can’t win and as Sod’s law would have it, whatever weather you account for mother nature will always throw you a curve ball so buy what you like and layer as necessary! Based on this very motto I chose these chunky tan platforms from Republic, £35. I’m a fan of the concealed platform and the peak-a-boo cutaway style makes them a perfect pair of transitional heels to bridge the gap between winter and the forthcoming spring summer season. Not a full shoe yet not quite a sandal. Wear with socks or tights until brighter warmer days (finally) come.

Vintage Chanel Envelope Handbag

Coco Chanel Black and White Quilted Bag

Vintage Chanel Black and White Quilted Bag

Like a fine wine, designer bags get better with age. Not only do you usually end up with something a little more unique and special but the price tends to be a little sweeter too. For me there’s something more appealing about an item that’s had a life of its own and shows traces of its own story to tell. Take this gorgeous Chanel quilted envelope bag I found on eBay (Check out Redheadgirl2010 on eBay for plenty more designer vintage finds). As with anything Chanel, its style is timeless and this classic monochrome bag will never look out of place. The fraction of the price of a new Chanel bag (ie a the cost of a small house!), I love that the white leather isn’t quite white anymore and shows signs of its vintage age. Like me it’s imperfect.

To summarise…J’adore!

It’s the hubby’s birthday! Tonight I’m going for comfort meets style and so I’m opting for my statement waterfall cropped blazer from H&M layered over a simple black vest. Teamed with my comfy Tesco jeggings and thick soled Topshop boots (super comfy!) this outfit won’t have me begging for mercy by the end of the night but still works for a night out.

Let the party begin!
