bear ears hat

I’m still loving all the animal hat’s popping up all over the high street. Not only are they warm and cute, they’re also a nice bit of winter fun and we all need a bit of that! If you don’t already have one already  I suggest you pick one up pronto!

Taking inspiration from celebs and catwalks a-like you can pick a pretty decent copy for a few quid. Let’s face it, the winter chill is well and truly on its way so you’re going to need all the help you can get to keep warm and look good at the same time.

One of my favourites is this cream bear ears hat from Missguided, just £11.99. I’m always a fan of hat’s that cover your ears!

Celebs such as Jessie J Demi Lavalo and Nikki Minage are all over the wild hat trend!

In your quest for warmth, you’ll no doubt look to a knitted beanie and these cute bear hats from Republic will do just the trick. A little less wild than the draped animal hats above but lovely all the same! Available in pink, grey and cream, here is my chosen one:

You can’t beat the feeling you get when you happen, upon an item which you love AND manage to buy at a bargain of a price. As much is true for new nana hat! Many would have walked past and let it be but for some reason (call me old before my time) it caught my eye and it had to be mine!

I almost picked up a fur scarf but hastily handed (almost threw it) back to the owner when I saw it still had paws, claws and a head!! While I still flitter between feeling “real fur’s unnecessary when faux can be so good these days” and “it’s already dead, vintage pieces are fine” the reality of it was far too much for me to take home.

Paris Hilton Wearing tan cape coat by Rachel Zoe (same as Katherine Heigl)

I love it when Paris Hilton gets her look right. Clothes really do look good on her! Snapped her wearing a rather glamorous camel coloured cape coat, elegantly teamed with high shine black leather/PVC trousers, barrel bag and statement sunglasses (in the dark I might add!).

The heiress’ actually wears the Rachel Zoe Ali Cape, yours for just $695! Aside from the price hurdle you’ll be hard pushed to find one in stock so here are my top five highstreet alternatives.

Missguidedd grey wool cape coat with black piping

I know it’s standard procedure to start at 5 and countdown to 1 but I just want to jump straight to my top pick. My favourite has to be this grey cape from Missguided. I love the simple black piping, shoulder detail and cute collar. The length seems spot on and the price is on point too – an all round winner in my book!

Missguided Bobbi Button Front Wool Cape £34.99

A slightly longer length but again I love the simplicity of this boohoo cape and the belt gives it a great shape.

Boohoo Evie Caped Collar Coat with Belt £45

Topshop black funnel neck cape coat

A little pricer than the others I’ve selected but the quality seems to be there. Nicer buttons and the funnel neck collar is both practical and stylish.

Topshop Black Cape £70

Great for an alternative to your regular winter coat when it’s not quite so nippy outside. I wouldn’t have it as my only winter coat but at £25 it makes a great little extra.

Boohoo.com Sam Big Button Cape £25.00

And for the more streetwise amongst us, we have the urban take on the cape coat from Republic. I love the fur-lined good and toggles to add a little shape to the waist.

So there you have it, a small selection of cape coats for budding style superheroes!
